Industry panel discussion, Current Developments in Sustainability and Resilience Affecting FM
Objective: provide the practicing FM or consultant with a wide, up to date, view of expectations generated by global interest in the contribution of the built environment to the sustainability and resilience, especially low carbon, healthy facilities

There is an ocean of articles, ads, data, recommendations, reports, regulations, standards … on this subject. Nevertheless, the picture for FM is clarifying, in part because it has to.
Keep an eye on this space? Later in the month, we’ll introduce panel members, what they are working on, and float topics that they intend to bring forward.

Doug Litwiler, a prospective panelist in the March 29 program, ventured into the subject of environmental sustainability features and performance (ex. LEED) in a March 9 APPA webinar. He noted that the performance, or even the presence, of these may not be verified and transferred to operations during the turnover, leaving their performance unknown and their need for maintenance or effects on other systems and equipment to be discovered later when trouble arises.
