Facilities Management for Mosques & preparing for the holy month of Ramadan

Overview:
The holy month of Ramadan is a time for reflection and spirituality where Muslims of the world fast during daylight hours. Mosques are frequented more often and are a focal point for breaking fast at sunset. Facilities Managers in the Middle East face a number of challenges during this time especially if Ramadan falls in the Summer months.

Over 14 hours of no eating or drinking during daylight hours with outside temperatures reaching 48 degrees/118 Fahrenheit challenges FM teams in the operation of mosques where footfall increases significantly during the month of Ramadan. So how would an FM who is new to the region and the religion approach maintaining mosques that span over 500 kilometers (300 miles)?
This presentation will discuss the challenges of maintaining over 300 Mosques in a remote area of the Middle East during the month of Ramadan and Summer seasons.

He won several awards at IAG and also won the Young Facilities Manager Middle East Award in 2009. Ryan is an accredited member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, IFMA, FMA Australia & Middle East Facility Management Association.
