“Coaching – Developing FM Professionals and Teams”


In our ever-changing and demanding Facilities Management environments, leaders and organizations need to better understand how to motivate, develop, retain and empower FM professionals in order to develop and maximize the potential of FM individuals and teams. In this session, real world experience and examples will be shared to demonstrate how coaching can be used as a leadership style to engage, energize, and develop FMs at all levels. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. The advantages of using coaching to accelerate the development of FM professionals
  2. How to apply coaching as a leadership style to motivate and empower FM staff and teams
  3. Tools for establishing meaningful relationships and communication with FM Professionals
  4. A new paradigm for FM development and engagement and how to access untapped potential
  5. How millennials are changing the game and how to gain insight into Millennial frame of mind with coaching

Presenter(s) Biography:

Marnie Cluckie, Director, Construction, Energy & Facilities Management, Regional Municipility of Niagara, Ontario

Marnie Cluckie is the Director of Construction, Energy & Facilities Management for the Niagara Region. She is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the division. Marnie has 15 years of leadership experience within both public and private sector environments. She has earned degrees in Architecture and Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and holds leadership certification in Advanced Management from McMaster University. She also has project management and facility management training from the University of Toronto. She has credentials as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM), LEED AP and in Energy Management. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters Degree in Management (Organizational Behaviour and Executive Coaching.)

Marnie has a passion for the built environment, FM leadership, and coaching and inspiring others to develop and grow to their personal best.
