“The Facility Manager’s Guide to Information Technology 2nd Edition” live from USA/Canada


This panel discussion is based on selected chapters from The Facility Manager’s Guide
to Information Technology: An International Collaboration between the IFMA Technology Council and GEFMA. The panel leaders are part of the co-authorship team that contributed to the informational text, which presents a current, impartial and comprehensive look at how information technology (IT) and facility management (FM) have become inextricably bound in the modern workplace. Exploring the evolving relationship between IT and FM, this book is a text that can be used by students and novice facility managers, as well experienced FMs. The authors intended the book to be used as both a teaching guide and reference tool for educational organizations and corporations alike. This session will include a lively discussion on the latest advancements in Facility Management Automation and provide guidelines for implementing them successfully.

Ted Ritter the current President of the IFMA Technology Council and has over 25 years of experience in facility operations and project management. His expertise is well regarded in the community with over fifty completed facility related technology and sustainability initiatives

Geoff Williams, General Manager, Centre for Health & Safety Innovation

 Geoff Williams is the General Manager at Centre for Health & Safety Innovation in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, where he is responsible for day-to-day operations, business development and corporate strategy development.
Prior to joining CHSI, he oversaw the development, implementation and marketing of a Web-based CAFM solution that is currently assisting the daily operations of a wide variety of health care facilities in managing more than 10 million square feet of property.
Geoff is on the IFMA board of directors, is the past president and current secretary of the I.T. Council of IFMA, and the past president of the Toronto Chapter of IFMA. In all of these roles, he supports the FM industry at large.
He is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s School of Architecture, holding degrees in both architecture and environmental studies.
