The Nigerian government/Lagos State was in search of a permanent solution to protect Bar Beach in Victoria Island from the impact of severe coastal erosion, and to safeguard Victoria Island from the threat of flooding. This area is expected to become the new financial epicentre of West Africa by the year 2020. By that time, Nigeria will be one of the world’s 20 largest economies. Eko Atlantic is the essential city for Lagos currently under construction off Bar Beach, Victoria Island. The impact on the FM is significant, as it will demand a paradigm shift in the current state to a future state that combines influence and capabilities, the utilization of expertise and the reduction of cost, and the creation of a transparent environment requiring more effective communication. It is the transformation from management to leadership, from facility management to organizational leadership.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand transformation via the mitigation of significant present factors and change management through successfully creating a different future state.
2. Learn how to minimize the bureaucratic decisions from a successful implementation of truly creative, private and public partnerships.
3. Understand how effectively transparency brings accountability and utilization of proper expertise.
4. Discuss the skills needed for the future state of FM as it relates to business continuity.
