FMCC President’s BLOG – November/December 2021

I just returned from my first IFMA World Workplace held this year in Orlando (Kissimmee) Florida at the Gaylord Palms Resort. Coming from outside the United States, I was a bit anxious with all the testing and protocols both coming in and leaving. It was hectic, but I came through it ok – long gone are the days when a Canadian only needed photo ID (a driver’s license) to travel to and from the United States.

I thoroughly enjoyed World Workplace, taking part in the speaker events, seminars, and the trade show with great exhibits and friendly people. I met so many people including my first face-to-face meeting with fellow FMCC Board members David Reynolds and Trudy Blight. I was delighted to attend the ceremony where Trudy was honored with an IFMA Fellowship. Congratulations Trudy!

My goal for 2022 is to have an FMCC members meeting at World Workplace in Nashville, Tennessee. In the meantime, as I go towards my first full year as FMCC President, I will be working on our Board’s goals and actions to better serve our membership.
