Brent Ward: Dancing With Change in FM
Brent digs into energy management systems and the changes that technology brings to managing interior environments through sensors, equipment monitoring with technology and the importance of meeting organization mandates for environmental issues. Machine learning for HVAC equipment allows continuous adjustments for meeting occupant needs. He also touches on the value of building a Business Case with the organization to address concerns of aging equipment and impact on Insurance costs and protection.
Brent has been in Facilities since 2007, mostly in the Education sector, but also Banking, and Medical Laboratories. Currently he has his own Consulting Firm. Brent is on the Board of the Oregon Southwest Washington chapter of IFMA as the Treasurer, and Chairman of the Emerging Professionals Committee, as well as the Career Development Committee. His term as Vice President of the Non-Profit Council ended in June/24.
Brent was raised in a construction family, running front end loaders on his uncles sites at 10 years of age! He owned his own painting company for years, worked in the insurance industry for a few years, and landed in Facilities in 2007. Brent is currently serving on the Facility Management Consultant Council.
